The day is finally here where I can rollout my new site design after having completed the arduous task of migrating from Blogger to WordPress. It took longer than I had anticipated, but what matters is that it’s done. And now I’d like to give you a rundown of my favorite new features on the site. Join me, won’t you?
I’ve redesigned the navigation menu so that my recipes are broken down to be more granular categories, and added dropdown menus where they make sense. I think it’s clean and user-friendly but of course if you – as the user – disagrees, let me know 😉
RECIPE INDEX (NOW KNOWN AS “THE MENU”)
I think this is my favorite part of the new design. The recipe index is broken into categories and now has a visual representation of each post. You can search by keywords, select the kind of food you’re looking for, or look through the archives by month if you’re feeling crazy.
There are four recipes featured under each category on the index homepage and a link to the “archive” for each where you can see them all.
Now that I’m on WordPress, I can finally utilize the Recipe Card plugin to make my recipes more organized. It’s going to take me a while to get all of the recipes converted to the new format, so bear with me.
I hope you like the new design as much as I do. As with any move, I have unpacking to do and still need to figure out where everything goes.
