It’s the last day of April (!) which means, tomorrow it’s gonna be May.
Please tell me you laughed at that, because it’s been making me laugh on this day, every year, for years. I make no apologies for where I find my humor.
Earlier today while I was making coffee, I looked out the kitchen window and saw our resident fox bouncing around the marsh while a huge white heron stood around looking all statuesque, both glowing in the early morning sun. They were perfectly framed by my window, so I knew I had to get some pictures of it. I quickly ran to grab my camera from the living room, adjusted the settings and started to shoot. But what happened? One of the cats decided he absolutely had to jump on the counter and walk back and forth, in frame, meowing loudly at me the entire time.
When he finally settled on one side of the counter, I decided to give it another shot. Maybe the fox and heron heard him, because the fox disappeared and the heron ducked down into a stream, out of sight. SIGH.
However, I did manage to get this lovely shot of the little furry photobomber before he headbutted the brush you see to the right, knocking it over and scaring him up to the second floor because it was obviously trying to kill him. I’m going to call this his presidential portrait.
Have I mentioned how difficult cats make it to… well, do things? Our kitchen is open to the rest of the floor, so I can’t close it off. Anyone have any tips for this completely non-cat person? Leave me a comment below – you have no idea how much I would appreciate it.
And now for some completely non-cat photoboming related things:
– If this doesn’t make you go “Awwww!” I don’t know if we can be friends.
– And if that’s the case, I need to find this man immediately and become his best friend.
– Have you ever tried NatureBox? We get it delivered to my office, and I always find myself wanting to try more than the few things we get (or six more bags of the asiago and cheddar cheese crisps because ermehgerd) so I ordered my first one for home last week. Can’t wait to tell you about it soon!
I’ve been looking pretty seriously as a new camera because I want to up my game, but everything that everyone has been recommending is more than $1K and that isn’t chump change! Does anyone have a camera that they love and takes great close up shots that is on the less expensive side? I know that’s like looking for a unicorn, but I have faith in you!
⚾ I’m headed to the Cubs game this evening and I’m so excited! Look for me in right field, fully decked out in all my Cubs gear ?
Tell me what you’re looking forward to this week in the comments!
