This peanut butter Cheerios bars recipe has 4 simple ingredients, and are quick and easy no-bake peanut butter bars that are a perfect grab and go snack!

A pile of no bake peanut butter Cheerio bars

I wanted to use the box of Cheerios cereal I had on hand to make a snack or dessert of some kind.

Then I realized that it would be so quick and easy to make cereal bars out of them with only a few ingredients that were already lying around the house: Cheerios (duh), peanut butter, honey and chocolate chips.

I'm sort of in love with these, and I'm fairly sure that the ease of making them is contributing to why this is going to become a default go-to at home.

And even better is that if you use Honey Nut Cheerios, you could decrease the amount of honey in the recipe. Or if you really love honey, keep it in! I'm not going to tell you how to live your life.

Ingredients for peanut butter Cheerios bars

  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup honey
  • 3 cups Cheerios cereal
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips

How to make peanut butter Cheerios bars

  1. Combine the peanut butter and honey in a microwave-safe bowl and heat it until it was fluid
  2. Stir that mixture in a bowl with the Cheerios™ and chocolate chips
  3. Pour it into a parchment paper lined dish and let it cool in the fridge.

The end! How easy is that?!

I sliced mine up into 9 large bars, but you could easily slice them into more than that if you're looking to make them more granola bar-sized to grab and go.

How to store Cheerios bars

You can store leftover bars at room temperature for up to 4 days, or in the fridge for up to 1 week.

How to freeze Cheerios bars

You can also store the bars, sliced, in the freezer for up to 1 month. Wrap them individually in plastic wrap, and then store them all in an airtight freezer-safe container.

Thaw at room temperature overnight before consuming.

  1. What a great idea! I’d love to share a box with my brother. We were partners in crime growing up and now that we live on opposite coasts we don’t get to see each other much. This would be a fun surprise! (client)
